Fil d'Arena

I am part of the dance-theatre company Fil d’Arena Dansa-Teatre as a creator and performer, alongside Isabel Abril, Clara Crespo, and Irene Ballester. Fil d’Arena Dansa-Teatre is a multidisciplinary company organized horizontally, focusing on collective creation.

 

The company has national and international recognition and has received support since 2015 from the IVC (Valencian Institute of Culture), the Cultural Action Program of the Valencia City Council, INAEM (National Institute of Performing Arts and Music), as well as from local organizations such as the Creation Residencies at Carme Teatre in 2017 and the Graners de Creació residency program in 2019.

“Our language is movement, and our tool is the body”

Fil d’Arena emerged in 2011 as a space to materialize the collective’s aspirations. Since my joining in 2014, we have premiered “La Sal que ens ha Partit” (2015), “Salt” (2017), “Cos a Cos. E111” (2019), “Nina” (2019), “Sénia” (2020), and “Nimbes” (2021).

LA SAL QUE ENS HA PARTIT
The Salt," the first work of the "La Sal" Trilogy, alludes to the global and timeless migration crisis. It's a proposal that combines dance, theater, and practical scenography.

"Salt" is the second part of the "La Sal" trilogy, a work that addresses migration from various perspectives. Nominated for Best Show in the Valencian Community in 2018.

COS A COS (E-111)
Concluding piece of the 'LA SAL' trilogy, centred around migration. In this collective creation, Fil d'Arena critically examines the "paper walls." It features highly visual dance mixed with group lifts that necessitate the unity of all five performers in a single action.

NINA
A dance-theatre performance by Fil d'Arena company in which I participated as assistant choreographer and occasionally as a substitute performer. "Nina" speaks to us about our essence and our power to change the color of the world.

In this production, the company addresses the inertia of movement and the need to pause within a mechanical and overproductive system that doesn't allow us to do so.

NIMBES
The company's ninth creation, which celebrates its tenth anniversary by sharing the stage with ten women ranging from 4 to 70 years old to give voice to diversity and highlight the importance of emotional networks, bonds, and legacy.
