MEDIATION PROJECTS

MEDIATION PROJECTS

My commitment to social impact through the arts has led me to develop and collaborate on personalized projects in community dance, social circus, and youth mediation. I work alongside groups, educational centers, festivals, and communities to create spaces for expression and learning, adapting each project to the specific needs of each group. Through these initiatives, I seek to leverage the transformative potential of the performing arts to foster social cohesion and personal development in various contexts.

Movement as a language to connect people

Community dance aims to bring art to everyone, regardless of their previous training, using movement as a tool for inclusion and collective expression. Through projects like Big Dance and Pina Bausch in Memoriam, it promotes participation and teamwork, connecting people through dance, respect, and solidarity.

Circus as a bridge for inclusion and social development

Social circus is a transformative tool that uses circus arts to promote social inclusion. In projects like the Social Circus Workshops with students from Mayotte, we work with young people from different contexts to develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and social skills, all through artistic collaboration and group expression.

The body and art as tools of expression and transformation

Mediation with young people through the performing arts uses the body and movement as tools for expression and conflict resolution. Through these projects, I help young people develop emotional and social skills, promoting their creativity and teamwork, while reinforcing their ability to relate positively to their environment.

DANZA COMUNITARIA

Community dance seeks to bring art to everyone, regardless of their previous training, and to use movement as a tool for inclusion and collective expression. Through projects like Big Dance and Pina Bausch in Memoriam, I have worked to bring together people of different ages and backgrounds, creating experiences of mass participation and collaboration in public spaces. These projects not only celebrate dance as an art form but also promote social cohesion, teamwork, and the enjoyment of movement within the community, demonstrating the transformative power of dance to connect people.

Big Dance

“The Big Dance,” an international dance initiative, was organized by Fil d’Arena Dansa-Teatre in collaboration with CulturArts Teatre i Dansa in Valencia on May 20, 2016. More than 300 people danced the same choreography in Plaza de la Virgen in Valencia.

The Big Dance project aims to bring art to the streets, promote dance, and raise awareness among citizens through diversity and community participation. It involves gathering a large number of people in public spaces to perform a simultaneous 3-minute choreography. This initiative takes place in several cities in Spain and in different countries around the world. Each year, a prominent British creator is commissioned to design the choreography, with Akram Khan chosen for the tenth edition, featuring original music by Nitin Sawhney. In 2018, we once again developed the project at the Deltebre Dansa Festival.

Pina Baush in Memoriam

Performance developed from July 15th to 20th, 2019, as part of the Deltebre Dansa Festival, alongside Isabel Abril and Irene Ballester.

Creation of a tribute piece inspired by The NELKEN-Line, one of Pina Bausch’s works. A piece about the passing of seasons and for which we drew inspiration from emotions and nuances. We also observed how Pina Bausch involved people of all ages, respecting their abilities. The final result was the creation of a choreographic march performed in front of the audience at the Festival.

SOCIAL CIRCUS

Social circus is a powerful tool that uses circus arts to promote social inclusion. This approach is applied in various communities around the world, providing people in vulnerable situations with the opportunity to develop emotional skills, strengthen self-esteem, and foster teamwork. Through circus, participants can connect with their environment and with others, creating a space for expression and collaboration.

Social Circus Workshops

I have participated in numerous social circus workshops, both local and international, always with the aim of using circus arts as a means for inclusion and social development.

Among them, the Social Circus Workshops at the Academia de Mayotte, a region located in the Indian Ocean, have been especially significant for me. In 2023 and 2024, I worked alongside professional circus artists and collaborated with young people from diverse communities, offering them the opportunity to express themselves and build their confidence through circus.

During these experiences, I worked with young people from different backgrounds, creating and presenting a performance that promoted values such as respect, solidarity, and teamwork. This experience not only allowed young people to improve their artistic skills but also helped strengthen social cohesion and a sense of belonging within their community. Mayotte, located between Madagascar and the coast of Mozambique, combines African, Malagasy, and French influences, contributing a rich cultural diversity to the project.

MEDIATION WITH YOUNG PEOPLE

Mediation with young people through the performing arts is a key approach for personal and social development. In mediation projects, I work with young people in vulnerable situations to use the body and movement as tools for expression and conflict resolution. These projects allow young people to develop emotional and social skills, foster creativity, and learn to express their thoughts and feelings in a constructive way. Artistic mediation also provides a space for young people to recognize themselves as part of a community and find new ways to relate to their environment.
